About Us
J-DAPA is a 501(c)(3) organization that has offered high-quality, affordable dance and theater education and performance opportunities to the Rhode Island community for over 25 years. After over 20 years without a permanent home and operating in public school buildings, we relocated to our current home in Smithfield in 2021 and have continued to grow and attract new talent. During our 2024-2025 season, we will be producing a record number of shows, including The Bugs, thanks to our growing staff and facilities, but ticket sales alone will not cover production costs, especially for our larger productions. To make our program as accessible as possible, we do not charge audition or participation fees for our productions, but this means that we rely on grants, fundraising, and individual and corporate donations to offset costs.
Advertising with us is not only tax-deductible, but allows your message to be seen by a large, diverse audience. Our last full-length musical had an attendance of over 500 patrons over its two-day run, and even our smaller-scale productions that are produced in-house have attracted up to 200 audience members.
